Goal Setting Mountain

This craft is easy, fun, and can help kids learn how to set goals and accomplish them! Goal Setting Mountain Craft is best for kids in grades 1-4. Parents and teachers are encouraged to help children think of a measurable goal (think “Hit a homerun” vs “Be a good baseball player”). Then, kids can break their bigger goal into 4 smaller steps.

The supplies you’ll need are:

  • Nina’s Goal Setting Mountain Print Out

  • Colored Pencils

  • Glue

  • A Pen or Marker

  • Scissors

  • A Clothes Pin (Paper Clip works too!)

First, use the scissors to cut out your mountain and your Nina!

Next, use colored pencils to decorate your mountain and your Nina.

Then, glue your clothes pin to your Nina!

The best part is deciding on what goal to have! Then think of 4 steps that you’ll need to do to get to your goal. Use your marker or pen to write your goal, and also each step.

Once your Nina glue has dried, use the clothes pin to attach Nina to step one. After you’ve compeleted step one, move Nina to step two, all the way until she reaches the top of the mountain…when you’ve accomplished your goal!

Older kids can do this at school and younger kids may want to do this at home with their parents. Like Nina, kids have to learn that there are many steps (mini goals) that need to be taken in order to reach their big goal!
